Setting up Two-Factor Authentication¶
Two-factor authentication (2FA) is a popular way to secure your online accounts. All you need to get started is a 2FA application, like Authy or Google Authenticator.
Edit Profile¶
Log into your QUIC.cloud Dashboard, click on the person icon at the top of the page, and click the Edit profile link.
Navigate to Two-factor Auth and open your 2FA app.
Set up 2FA App¶
If 2FA is not yet configured for your account, you will see that the Status is ❌ Disabled
, and the steps to enable it are shown on the page.
Step 1: Scan the QR Code¶
Use your 2FA app to scan the provided QR code. If your app doesn't have scanning capabilites, you may copy the long string displayed under the QR code, and share that with the app instead.
Follow any additional steps required by the 2FA application in order to complete setup of your my.quic.cloud account.
Step 2: Download Backup Codes¶
In the event you lose access to your 2FA application, you can use a backup code to access your QUIC.cloud Dashboard. QUIC.cloud provides five of these single-use backup codes. Copy the codes and save them in a safe place, so you can find them when you need them.
Danger
Once you have completed the 2FA setup, you will no longer have access to view the backup codes. Be sure to copy and save them now, before you leave this page.
Step 3: Verify Setup¶
Your 2FA app will provide you an authentication code for my.quic.cloud.
Verify that you have correctly enabled 2FA in your 2FA app by copying the provided code into the Authentication Code field. Press the Submit Code & Enable 2FA button.
If all is well, you will see a Verification successful
message.
Future Logins¶
The next time you log in, you will be asked for your login credentials as usual. If successful, an Authentication Code prompt will appear. Open your 2FA app, and get a code for your my.quic.cloud account. The code will only be valid for a short time, so copy it quickly, enter it into the prompt and press the Login button.
Disabling 2FA¶
If you decide to stop using two-factor authentication with QUIC.cloud, you can disable it on the same screen where you enabled it.
You will see the status is displayed as ✅ Enabled
. At the bottom of the screen is a red link that will allow you to Disable 2FA. Click it. You will be prompted to confirm that you wish to disable two-factor authentication. Click the Yes, disable 2FA button to proceed, or Cancel if you change your mind.
